Terms of Use
Clearline Plumbing & Heating (“Clearline,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides residential and commercial plumbing and heating services across the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and Vancouver Island. By scheduling service, receiving an estimate, or using our website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Service Fees & Billing
Hourly Rates
- Standard rate: $120/hour
- After-hours, weekends, and statutory holidays: $240/hour
Billing begins upon arrival at the service address and continues until work is completed, including time spent diagnosing, sourcing parts, or providing recommendations.
Diagnostic Fee
A standard $199 diagnostic fee applies to all service calls. This fee covers initial assessment and is waived when the recommended repair is approved during the same appointment.
Materials & Parts
Materials, fixtures, and parts are billed separately. Prices vary based on availability, manufacturer pricing, and required specifications.
Payment Terms
Payment is due immediately upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Accepted payment methods include:
- Credit card
- Debit
- E-transfer
- Cash
Late or outstanding invoices may incur interest and collection fees.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Clearline operates with a 24-hour cancellation policy.
- Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the $199 diagnostic fee, regardless of whether service is completed.
- Missed appointments (“no-shows”) are subject to the same charge.
This policy ensures technician availability and operational efficiency.
Warranty & Guarantees
Labour & Workmanship
Clearline warrants all labour performed for 90 days from the date of service.
Parts & Materials Warranty
All parts installed by Clearline include a 90-day warranty, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer. Manufacturer warranties may differ and are subject to their own terms.
Warranty Exclusions
Warranties do not apply to:
- Pre-existing issues or defects
- Failures caused by improper use, neglect, or modifications by others
- Customer-supplied parts or materials
- Drain blockages that reoccur due to structural defects, root intrusion, or improper system design
- Systems older than 15 years, unless otherwise stated
Clearline is not responsible for damages arising from conditions beyond our control, including aging infrastructure or concealed plumbing issues.
Estimates & Quotes
Estimates are provided based on visible conditions and the information available at the time of assessment. Hidden damage, inaccessible areas, or additional required work may result in revised pricing. All quotes are non-binding until work begins.
Access & Site Conditions
Customers are responsible for providing safe, unobstructed access to the service area. Technicians may refuse service if unsafe or unsanitary conditions are present.
Customers must disclose any known hazards including asbestos, mould, contaminated water, aggressive pets, or structural weaknesses.
Liability Limitations
Clearline is fully licensed, bonded, and insured. However, we are not liable for:
- Secondary or consequential damages (e.g., drywall repair, flooring replacement, repainting)
- Failures caused by pre-existing issues such as corrosion, deteriorated pipes, or code violations
- Damages caused by customer-provided parts or DIY work
- Loss of use or interruption of business
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the total amount paid for the service in question.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers agree to:
- Provide accurate information regarding symptoms, past repairs, and equipment history
- Ensure payment is made promptly
- Approve any work requiring additional charges before execution
- Adhere to local bylaws, permitting requirements, and inspection regulations where applicable
Privacy & Communications
By contacting Clearline or booking service, you consent to receive communication related to scheduling, service updates, quotes, and invoicing. Customer information is kept confidential and never sold or shared except as required by law or with authorized service partners.
Website & Digital Use
All website content, imagery, and branding are the property of Clearline Plumbing & Heating and may not be copied, reproduced, or redistributed without written permission.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where the service was performed.
